Relief after a frightening wait

The appointment brought unexpected relief

The October 27 packages livestream began with something far more important than opening boxes. Lauren and Justin shared the breast-cancer scare they had been carrying through much of the month, and the unexpected relief at her appointment that morning.

Breast pain had led Lauren to a diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound. Although the mammogram had not shown a concern, she said the ultrasound revealed a small suspicious area and a biopsy was recommended. With her grandmother’s experience of breast cancer in mind, the wait was frightening for both of them.

At the appointment for the ultrasound-guided biopsy, the technician could not locate the area seen in the earlier images. The doctor looked as well and could not find it. No biopsy was performed. He suggested that a cyst might have ruptured between appointments, but could not say for certain why the area was no longer visible.

Lauren said follow-up diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound were planned for about six months later, around April. She left the appointment relieved and smiling; when Justin saw her, they hugged before leaving together and going to tell her mother the news. Hear Lauren explain the appointment and follow-up.

That relief also brought complicated feelings. Lauren spoke about how hard it felt to share her good news while people in the Farmily were facing breast cancer themselves. She and Justin offered love, prayers and support, and she described a new understanding of the fear that comes with waiting. Listen to Lauren’s message to the community.

Lauren had already made that support personal. In the same conversation, she said she had sent Lemongrass awareness boxes to people she knew who were going through cancer treatment, alongside the love and prayers she offered on the live. Hear Lauren’s message of support.

What the quieter mornings have meant

They also explained why regular 7:11 Animal Heaven broadcasts had been absent. The strain of the past year, their uncertain livelihood and the worry they had kept largely to themselves had made it difficult to turn on the camera and act as though everything was fine. They hoped that sharing the news would help people understand. Justin wanted to return when it felt right, but they had no restart date to announce. Hope’s fourth birthday brings a new box

Hope turns four on November 10. To mark her birthday, Lauren announced a new SFF Hope Box with four products that had not been offered before: two made by Lauren and two by followers. It was a birthday merchandise launch, separate from the Lemongrass breast-cancer-awareness box they discussed earlier in the stream. The four birthday products remained a surprise. Justin and Lauren also talked about the work behind the merchandise, expanding creator shops and the new free Monday newsletters. Lauren liked having a way for viewers to catch up across channels, and wanted her Lemongrass updates included. This journal carries that idea forward, with the personal stories first and a small shopping corner later.

Preparing the shirt designs was another part of the growing workload. Lauren described feeling overwhelmed as the merchandise expanded. One small example brought the work into focus: lettering on a black shirt needed a white border, and she had been adding it by hand. Justin helped find a quicker way to finish it. Their old setup-crew-versus-merch-team teasing had become a working partnership, with more products to prepare as the creator shops grew. See the work behind the designs.

There were practical decisions behind the October 29 sale, too. Lauren explained that the old flat shipping charge had left them absorbing some of the cost, so that live would use the website’s calculation based on the value of the order. She wanted to keep it fair while offering good prices. She was also clearing the autumn stock to make room for the Christmas items waiting to come out. Hear the October sale’s practical changes.

A little Halloween mischief

Justin lined up party poppers for Lauren's entrance to their Halloween shopping live, but one did not cooperate. The welcome supplied its own little surprise before the merchandise took center stage—a fitting opening to the October 29 broadcast, Spooktacular live sale with Lauren and Jay!

The fun also turned up in something much smaller. Later in the live, opening a miniature tumbler keychain led to a discussion about its packaging and a search for the lid. Ideas for what the tiny container might hold became part of the exchange. Between the entrance and the keychain, the broadcast's memorable moments came from objects that did not quite behave as expected.

The small items also had makers behind them. Lauren said a follower made the goat-and-pumpkin keychains. Later, she introduced handmade jewelry from Marie, whose business she named as Wired by Creative Vision; pieces that did not sell would go back to their maker.

By the end of the live, giving was moving between viewers, too. Several people offered to buy shirts for other members of the chat. Lauren paused to thank them for caring for one another. Alongside the shopping and costume jokes, those offers were a real part of the evening. Meet the makers in the replay.

Those two scenes make useful places to drop into the replay: the party-popper welcome near the beginning, and the miniature-tumbler puzzle later on. They offer a taste of Justin and Lauren's back-and-forth without needing to follow the entire shopping broadcast.

Costumes at the farm

The October 31 movie night brought that playful spirit to the farm. The invitation had insisted on costumes, and the new photographs show the community following through—from a close-up costume portrait to a cheerful selfie beside the outdoor fireplace.

The earlier costume photograph belonged to the invitation. This week’s new movie-night pictures add the gathering itself, with friends enjoying their Halloween evening together.
